If the two leads Emilia Clarke (aka the Mother of Dragons in Game of Thrones) and Sam Claflin (the hunk from Hunger Games) is still not enough reason to watch Me Before You, then take a look at the movie’s two trailers released already.
The movie is based on the book by the same name by Jojo Moyes and as far as we have seen from the film industry in the last decade, film adaptations from romantic novels always turn out amazingly.
The trailer of the movie is enough to make us want to watch Me Before You as soon as we can but we just have to wait until June 3rd to see it.
The trailers show us that it’s going to be a classic for the lovers of romantic cinema. It seems to be right up there with the classics such as Pride and Prejudice or The Notebook. What differs Me Before You from these timeless classics is that it’s very much a millennial movie. Rather than being a period movie Me Before You takes place in our time and it shows love is still as beautiful as it was “back then”.
Although the quirky character of Emilia Clarke seems to be a classic “manic pixie dream girl” we think the fashion of those characters have run out so there has got to be more depth to her character than meets the trailers. The character of Sam Claflin also seems to be a tough and hurt man cliche but again we still give the benefit of doubt. After all how much character depth can you really reflect in a trailer?
Whether it turns out to be a complete cliche, we still think you should watch Me Before You to decide. In the mean time, take a look at the trailers to judge for yourself.
