The royal family’s Christmas card for 2015 bucks tradition as the royal couple decide to make it an informal family portrait. The adorable portrait of Prince William, Kate Middleton, their 2-year-old son Prince George and Princess Charlotte who is now 7-moths-old captures the royal family amongst autumn leaves in their Kensington Palace.
The photo was a relaxed-looking royal couple in very informal clothes. Kate Middleton in jeans was a very uncommon choice of clothing but the couple is all about bucking tradition. The real show stealer of the photo was Prince George who was dressed in schoolboy shorts and a knitted sweater acting like any 2-year-old would. Unable to stay still the Prince’s mischevous look gives the photo a real sincere feeling. The little Princess Charlotte with one of her shoes fallen on the grass makes the royal family’s Christmas card even more adorable and down-to-earth. An this isn’t even the first photograph of the family to show how down-to-earth they really are.
The photo was taken by Chris Jelf who said “I thoroughly enjoyed photographing a very lovely family, although you have to be sharp as you don’t have long when there are two young children involved! I hope everyone enjoys this photo and I am honored that The Duke and Duchess have decided to share it with the public.”
The photograph was intended for personal use but since they loved the photo so much they decided to make it their official Christmas card. The royal family’s Christmas card was shared on Twitter and the caption of the photo read “A Family photo – Merry Christmas from The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince George and Princess Charlotte,” and continued “The Duke and Duchess are hugely appreciative of all the warm messages they have received about their family this year and are very much looking forward to their first Christmas as a family of four.”
