Anyone who has ever stepped on a LEGO knows this pain. The little brick taking over your body with excruciating pain that you cannot stop. The little joy of playing with the LEGO is completely taken over by that one step. It’s almost as bad as stubbing your toe on the corner of a furniture, if not so much worse. If you’ve never experienced the pain of stepping on a LEGO, this invention will mean absolutely nothing to you; but if you have, get ready to be overwhelmed with joy.
Well, LEGO France came up with a solution that will make parents look like superheroes, walking over it like some kind of magic. The LEGO branded padded slippers. These will make you survive those terrible moments when you accidentally teach your kids their first curse word.
Why do we only talk about parents as potential users you say? Well, actually they’re only for French parents because you need to enter a sweepstakes in the brand’s France website writing about your holiday wish list. They only made about 1500 pairs of these and are giving them away 150 pairs a day.
It’s a shame LEGO though they could get away with a PR campaign giving away these slippers because the word is now out. Enthusiasts are not letting this one go and are demanding that this invention be sold worldwide.
It may seem cool to have a LEGO branded slipper but you have to admit, the invention is no rocket science. It’s just a slipper that is heavily padded with memory foam and has the firm’s iconic colours with the company logo.
People just don’t like stepping on sharp things, that’s why humans have invented shoes. The whole PR campaign may have played out well for LEGO but demand will probably not hold up once they are on the market as being over-priced foam slippers.
