Hannah Altman is a photographer and she is living in Pittsburgh. Her aim is to visualize woman bodies that includes all ugly situations or beautiful situations. She wants to think people in female beauty concept like is female beauty really directly related to be a woman only?
Hannah Altman said that “The body fluid of the models – which includes blood, tears, and vomit – has been replaced with glitter in order to visualize the concept of girls invariably needing to seem attractive regardless of what is actually happening in each scenario. The project is intended to be a pictorial representation of the unreasonable female standard of beauty. By creating set-ups that would normally be considered grotesque would it not be for the glitter, the sparkle stands out because it is the only facet of the photo that is abnormal”
She mentioned about her project that “‘And Everything Nice’ is an unflinching analysis of the standard for female beauty. The ongoing series consists of women in states of affliction; the body fluid of the models have been replaced with glitter to visualize the concept of girls invariably needing to seem attractive regardless of the actual situation.”
Have you ever noticed or not but photographers who work on female beauty concept are increasing day by day and I think this is an inevitable situation. Hannah is still too young and her projects give people hope to change world one day. If you wish you can easily fond her blog pages and her different photograph projects. This statement is taken from her official website “By blending fine art and social commentary, Altman creates a visual dialogue about societal structure relating to the perception of the human body.”
The most striking photo in this project is an underwear which is taken on period of menstruation. She has used glitter powder in this project.
