Female orgasm has definitely been a topic of discussion lately. More women feel free to talk about their sexual experiences and when they do a common ground almost all women share becomes visible. Women are not getting enough orgasms!
Now that more celebrities are talking about it and 2015 has been the year of the female orgasm, the situation seems to be changing. Not fast enough though, the Cosmopolitan survey in 2015 showed that only 57% of women have orgasm when engaging in sexual intercourse with their partner. So even though the fact that we are talking about is great, the orgasm gap between men and women is still intact.
The idea that the female orgasm seems to be a big mystery that people just can not get the hang of is absolutely outdated. True, there are not enough information on how to give women pleasure but a new app OMGYes is on the verge of changing it all.
The female pleasure app used the experience and wisdom of over 2,000 women between the ages of 18-95 to have an overall data on how women pleasure themselves. One of the unrecognised accomplishment of the project is that it gave name to various terms and techniques of the female orgasm, which were previously urban slang or gynaecologist language.
These include words like edging which is a way to get a bigger orgasm by approaching and denying, or multiples which is a way to overcome sensitivity to have multiple orgasms.
After getting a language of it, the female pleasure app created an interactive system where both men and women could use to get familiar with the act of female orgasm giving. With touchable videos that use the expertise of thousands of women, people can get real-time feedback on how to pleasure a vulva until they get the motions right. So the OMGYes female pleasure app is sort of an exercise on how to give women orgasms and one of the founders of the company says the female body, “isn’t unknowable. It’s nuanced and mysterious and fascinating, but it’s not unknowable.”
